Emergency Lighting is required by most sectors of industry that have a large workforce or public access. It is used for lighting escape routes when the main power source has failed. Emergency lighting comes in two main formats, these being individual self contained systems with their own power source or centralised backup systems. In using both these formats there are three types available:
Maintained:
The same Lamp is used by both the mains and the backup system
Non-Maintained:
The lamp is only used when the mains fails
Sustained:
Additional lamp housed in the mains luminaire is used when the mains fails

Units
We supply a range of self-contained modules both in the maintained and non-maintained format.
High Efficiency Modules:
Range of maintained modules which utilise fewer cells and save space, heat and cost in the process.
Inverters
Range of inverters for central systems at 12V, 24V, 50V, 110V & 230V AC & DC
Batteries
Sealed Nickel cadmium cells with a life of at least 4years and comply with EIC standards. Reliable batteries for emergency lighting.
Gear Boxes
A range of gear boxes are available which allow luminaries to be converted to emergency use and are made of the highest quality.
Emergipack
Emergipacks are integrated high frequency inverter ballast's incorporating maintained emergency lighting. We supply a range for 16W, 21W & 28W with 2D fluorescent lamps.
Discharge Lighting Sensor
Used in high pressure discharge lamp circuits and senses for correct operation of the discharge lamp.
Conversion Kits
We supply conversion kits for maintained emergency lighting for a wide range of lamp sizes. The kit include modules, terminal blocks, labels, LED and colour coded wire cut to length together with full instructions of use.
12 Volt Systems
We supply emergency lighting equipment for 12 volt systems from 12W to 60W utilising either sealed lead acid or nickel cadmium cell types.
Combined Gear Boxes
Strikalite deals in boxes that integrate the conventional control gear for fluorescent lighting. This is especially useful in locations where the conventional lighting is not provided by a luminaire. Examples of this would be in a lift with pelvic or cornice lighting or bathrooms with concealed or mirror lighting.
A full range of modules to ICEL approved maintained and non maintained units are available covering Florescent Tube sizes from 4w to 125w in 4 pole relay version for maintained units to encompass both switch and quick start luminaries. The range also takes in the majority of the energy saving luminaries. Battery packs can be constructed with the correct connectors, to specification.
